Lockdown Baking Challenge
Year 2 took part in a lockdown baking challenge. The children were encouraged to choose a recipe, follow the instructions using their reading and maths skills to produce a culinary delight...and they did!
Deep dish pizza making - the children enjoyed using safe cutting skills to prepare ingredients for our pizzas. What a simple savoury snack!

Shepley Dojo Visit 22.10.19
The children visited the Dojo to show parents and carers their new Karate skills. It was a fantastic afternoon!
Methodist Church Visit 5.12.19
Year 2 spent an enjoyable morning at Almondbury Methodist Church. We listened to the Christmas Journey performed by the church members. We then made Christmas cards. We had a great time!
Hepworth Art Gallery Visit 23.01.20
Years 1 and 2 completed their Arts Award Discover in the summer term. To further continue that work the children visited the Hepworth Art Gallery. They took part in sketching activities and a printmaking session. They all had a fantastic day and loved sharing all their knowledge.
In year 2 we like doing art. We have learnt about lots of different artists. Here are some of our favourite art work.
In literacy we trying to use expanded noun phrases. Here are some examples of what we wrote in our own work after watching 'Something Fishy' on the Literacy Shed.
In literacy we watched a short clip called The Dream Giver. We then wrote a descriptive piece of writing using adjectives which we then redrafted. As part of art we used watercolours to recreate The Dream Giver.
The children as part of our Spring topic 'The Environment' looked at Romero Britto and produced there own pictures.
We LOVE P.E especially when it outside! We had Huddersfield Giants come in to help us with rugby. It was fantastic!
