Science Week 23
Science Week 23 was back again this year and the theme was
'CONNECTIONS'.

Highburton First School celebrated the week with some amazing activities and events in classes and as a whole school.
We were lucky enough to welcome in several guest speakers in a variety of science fields - from environmental science to engineering machinery - to speak to the children, inspiring them to possibly want to pursue a career in Science in the future.
As well as this, Year 5 had the opportunity yo take part in some hands on activities including finger printing and engineering a bridge challenge which they thoroughly enjoyed.
To conclude the week, on Thursday, we held our very first Science Fair where the children showcased their scientific knowledge by producing a stand with a demonstration or practical experiment! The children really did blow away the extensive amount of parents and visitors that attended as they voted for their favourite. In Friday’s assembly, we announced the winner; Maisie and Rose stunned the visitors with their spinning magnet display, Well done!
Thank you to all the children who took part, parents and families for supporting the children and everyone who visited the Science Fair - the week was a great success.
